After he briefly introduced himself, he described Riot's pricing decisions as adhering to these two fundamental philosophies:
"1) Playing LoL should be super fun for players who don’t spend money, ever. This means that players can experience a wide variety of play styles without purchasing anything, and can also be successful and reach their maximum potential from a competitive standpoint. Our data, some of which I will share in future posts, shows that we are achieving these objectives today, but this is not something that we can ever take for granted.
2) Players who support Riot by buying and spending RP should be rewarded with additional customization and be able to leverage their time more effectively. It is not cheap to support the most played game in the world, hire the best game dev talent, and release new content and functionality every week, and we are grateful to those who help us make that happen."
He also mentioned two NEW promotions, which are already available.
The first is a price reduction, both in RP and IP, for Garen, Maokai, and Caitlyn.
Garen will be reduced to 450 IP and 260 RPYou may notice this 790 RP price point is new, usually champions are limited to 975 RP and 585 if there is not a sale going on. Hippalus commented that he's "curious to see how players respond to the 790RP price, as it's one of many things we are considering to make content more accessible."
Caitlyn will be reduced to 4800 IP and 790 RP
Maokai will be reduced to 4800 IP and 790 RP
Any who, the second promotion is for the next six days there is a new, temporary $100 tier and anyone who purchases RP will receive double the BONUS RP from their purchase. This means the small amount of extra, bonus RP, not the flat amount of RP. For example, if you purchase the $10 RP package on NA servers, you would normally get 1300 RP and 80 bonus RP. While this promotion continues you will get 1300 RP and 160 bonus RP.

DeleteI did some quick calculations and if you're a big spender like my b/f and I are, it's better to get the $35 instead of $50. You get 155 RP/Dollar for $35 and 158 RP/Dollar for $50, that translates to 45 whole RP. Not a whole lot if you ask me.

DeleteThank god they reduced Caitlyn. It's unfair for her to be 6300 IP, considering how hard Riot nerfed her. Again and again and again until she's probably one of, if not the worst AD carry in the game after like 20 minutes.

DeleteI just entered my request too. All you gotta do is hit the Support button right on top the LoL.com site then you go to the Submit a Request, fill out the information needed (I put the ticket as Billing>general) then you are good to go!
