If you don't use the ward skin, does its life continue counting down to expiration? Or will it stay until you use it again?

Like, if I have 7 days left on a ward skin but only use the default wards for the week, will it count down to 0 anyway after a week?

Wait, so the splash art is the old version of the skin, but they changed the model, I hope they change one of them so it, fits with the other, or this is gonna get annoying.

I expect more from Zombie Brand splash art. For example some scene from Michael Jackson's thriller with some zombie ladies around him :D but who cares about splash when in-game skin is absolutely awsome.
