What a treat! I've never been more excited for an upcoming PBE update.
"We’re excited to announce that a new version of Twisted Treeline is
about to hit PBE, with a live Beta soon to follow. We've heard your
feedback, and we’ve rebuilt Treeline to improve some of the areas you
suggested. Here’s a rundown of the major renovations to the map:
- More viable team comps: the item shop on Twisted
Treeline now boasts an arsenal tailor-made to support every role in 3v3
combat, and the terrain has been modified to make blink champions easier
to hunt down
- An improved jungle: We’ve replaced the random monsters with
new, reliable jungle camps, and removed most of the upper jungle to
focus the action towards the center where the jungler can gank both
lanes
- Faster games: we widened the choke point outside each
inhibitor to prevent late game turtling and added a wall separating the
shrine turret from the Nexus to stop players from pulling super minions
into the laser beam
- More awesome neutral objective: The Lizard Elder has been
replaced by two altars that can be claimed for a team-wide buff, and
Ebonmaw has been replaced by Vilemaw – an epic giant spider boss!
Remember that this is still Beta, so be sure to help us continue improving the new design for this classic battlefield by posting your feedback to the Twisted Treeline forums.
Whether you’re a veteran Twisted Treeline player or you’re getting
ready for your first 3v3 match, we hope you’ve come prepared for some
fast-paced, champion-centered gameplay.
Want more details on the upcoming changes? Stay tuned for more info as we move closer to release.
Give us your feedback on the new Twisted Treeline here."

Edit: Forgot to include the
PBE FAQ about this Twisted Treeline update. Enjoy!
"Why did you choose to launch the new version of Twisted Treeline as a beta?
We opted to launch the new Twisted Treeline as a beta because it is by
far the most major overhaul that we've ever made to a map. The remake
touches everything from the item shop on down to the terrain and even
introduces some brand new mechanics and monsters.
While it's undergone rigorous testing to get it ready for live release,
there are over 13 million of you logging in to play each day. Treeline
has passed our test, but there˘s still a lot we can learn by putting an
ambitious feature like this into the hands of an audience as massive and
awesome as you.
There's a lot that you can do to help us improve the map in preparation
for a full-fledged launch, so please be sure to give us your feedback
and report any bugs you find on the Twisted Treeline forums.
.
How long will the new Twisted Treeline be in beta testing?
That's a good question, and the short answer is: as long as it needs to
be. We want the new Twisted Treeline to be a polished and fun 3v3
experience, and we're going to keep iterating and improving on the
design until we feel that it˘s ready for a full-fledged launch. A huge
part of that preparation is your feedback, and we encourage you to make
comments and report any bugs over at the Twisted Treeline forums..
How will the launch of the new Twisted Treeline affect Ranked play in Season Three?
The Ranked ladder in Season Three will continue as normal on this new
Field of Justice, so grab a couple of your friends and hit the queues
for a few ranked games. And once you've finished, head on over to the
Twisted Treeline forums to give us your feedback on picks, bans, and the
overall competitive experience. We'd love to hear your thoughts on how
we can improve.
Why'd you make the specific changes that you did?
While Summoner's Rift remains our most popular map, Twisted Treeline has
always maintained an extremely passionate following of diehard
competitors. These players have a ton of experience with TT and have
generated a lot of discussion surrounding the map. This conversation
helped us zero in on the core issues that were preventing Treeline from
reaching the same level of competitive balance that we saw on Summoner's
Rift.
What can we expect from the new Twisted Treeline?
The new Twisted Treeline will feature the same high-intensity combat as
its predecessor, with a strong focus on champion vs. champion combat.
Look for a greater emphasis on ganks and team fights, and a shorter
overall game length.
I have feedback on the new Twisted Treeline. How do I contribute?
If you have ideas for how to make Twisted Treeline even better, we
definitely want to hear them. We're deeply committed to making 3v3
League of Legends even better, and we want you to keep helping us
improve the map through the beta and beyond. We have a Design team
specifically dedicated to supporting Twisted Treeline and iterating
based on your feedback. We're not happy until you're happy, so pay a visit to the Twisted Treeline forums and leave us a comment."
edit 2:
rjcombo mentioned the new TT will be initially launched on the PBE and then followed up with a beta release on live servers.
"Internally we often have target release dates, but there are a number of factors that can affect those dates. As such we typically don't announce features or content until we feel confident they are ready to go, and the time between announcement and launch tends to be very short.
For the new TT we're taking it a step further. We are initially launching on the PBE and will follow up with a beta release on the live servers. During both of these phases we'll be monitoring results and feedback and continue making adjustments to the map as needed."
Well, that was way to quick. Not doing any homework tonight haha...
ReplyDeleteExactly !
DeleteRawr
ReplyDeleteOmg
ReplyDeleteso many changes omfg... this is gonna be cool
ReplyDeleteAnd people said, "Probably dominion with golems" yeah right. I'm really looking forward to this and the turtling removed which is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI love the changing of the seasons :P
ReplyDeletexD Haha, that made me think of Zyra's joke
DeleteAll this new stuff tonight!
ReplyDeleteMY BODY IS STILL NOT READY!!!!
Also, would I be correct in assuming Haunted Maokai is to go along with this redesign?
DeleteSince TT now looks more gothic and spooky.
Wait.
DeleteAre they retconning TT to be part of the Shadow Isles?
Yeah, TT is now a part of the Shadow Isles, and they have a new shop keeper as well, instead of old Gonzo.
Deletehttp://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?p=30340832#30340832
So Maokai's lore is going to be changed then?
DeleteMaokais lore wont be changed, why would it be?
Deletebecause he was born in the twisted treeline.
Deleteso was nocturne
DeleteFIRST!!!!!!!!!!! DONT GET MAD CUZ IM FIRST!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLol?
DeleteI CALLED 1ST FIRST SO FK ALL OF YOU, AND YOUR MOTHERS
ReplyDeleteLOL fun fact = look behind the spider, there it is the dead body (just bones) of our beloved Ebonmaw :c scumbag riot!
ReplyDeleteThis map may make me play more 3v3... And is the boss Elise's god? or... lol.
ReplyDeleteIt's her baby daddy
DeleteJust as good as a new map. This is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteWhen can we see this going live on the beta?
ReplyDeleteHoly Hell! This makes Summoners Rift look like shit!
ReplyDeleteSummoners Rift is still really good. If they implemented this kind of map system and theme to a larger scale 5v5 map, then I'd agree with you but I think they can do better. And I think you'd agree a large scale version of this with a new monster replacing the dragon and baron.
Deleteriot put a lot of effort into dominion and twisted treeline but the thing is 90% of the the player base play SR instead of them,
ReplyDeleteI think riot should make either Twisted Treeline or Dominion as their 5th game in best of 5 tourney and that will make Twisted Treeline or Dominion more competetive
Trust me, lots of people are gonna be playing Twisted Treeline after this overhaul remake but the players will slowly move back to SR

ReplyDeleteHello, Roshan brother! #dota2
this link brings nothing up
DeleteAgreeing with the Anonymous play, Riot should add the ranked feature to both TT and Dominion (solo ranked not team ranked) to spread out the player base and get more competitive scenes going on rather then just SR being the only competitive scenes. I want to play this map so bad.
ReplyDeletedown vote button needs to be implemented......lol
ReplyDeleteHope they are working on the rift as well. It would be cool if they could update the complete art ("recent" changes were not bad, but this looks like another level of awesomeness).
ReplyDeleteWhen I read GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! I imagined the Professor boss from ICC saying that. "GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! THE SLIME IS FLOWING AGAIN!"
ReplyDeleteOr you know... the professor from Futurama.
DeleteYou do realize the boss from ICC was a parody of "the professor" from Futurama?
DeleteThat spider guy looks like a Carnifex.
ReplyDeleteBadass
Why does hecarim look different :o
ReplyDeleteHe wore a different pair of pants to church I dunno
DeleteIt's a skin
Deletewow. Awesome. just... Awesome. I have no words for that.
ReplyDeletewth.... FRIST BUAHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteDunno where you've been, but Riot have stated over and over again that they're not currently working on a new map.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one thinking Vilemaw is the Spider God from Elisa's Lore?
ReplyDeleteTwisted Treeline is the best fucking map in the game, screw Summoner's Rift. Can't wait to see this ingame :DDDD
ReplyDeleteI still dont care about 3v3
ReplyDeleteThe more Roit polishes this game the more of an awesome crowd they become. So much win in this. Unbelieveable it is a F2P-Game...
ReplyDeleteWOW NICE <333
ReplyDeleteThis is so stupid, the old one was much better.
ReplyDeleteWith everyone named Anonymous, it just looks like one guy fighting with himself
ReplyDeleteNice change Riot, your the best (sarcasm)
ReplyDeleteOld TT always
