New Splash Arts
While we still don't have any Nidalee or Nami splash arts, this patch treated us to brand new default splashes for both Brand and Mordekaiser.
Brand
Mordekaiser
Jack of Hearts Twisted Fate's splash art got a small alteration, changing the spade on the top of his hat into a heart. Other than that, it remains the same splash art as live.

Eternum Nocturne Particles
This upcoming legendary skin got some additional particles added on to his ultimate. He now has a swirling little black hole-y particle before he jumps.

UI Changes
The scoreboard now has color indicators to better separate teams and is slightly transparent.
Mastery Changes
There was also a slight change to the new masteries in this patch as Vampirism and and Strength of Spirit have switched places. Not sure if this is intentional as the icons have not changed.
Balance Changes
As expected, a few more balance changes were present in this patch.
Champions:
Nami
Aqua Prison
Ebb and Flow
- Mana cost decreased to 60 at all ranks from 65.
Tidal Wave
- Heal reduced to 65/95/125/155/185 from 75/105/135/165/195
- Damage increased to 70/110/150/190/230 from 65/105/145/185/225
- Mana cost increased to 70/85/100/115/130 from 60/75/90/105/120
- Range increased to 2800 from 2550
Items: 
Avarice Blade
- Passive Gold reduced to 2 gold per 10 seconds down from 4 gold.
Mercurial Scimitar
- It's activate now only grants bonus movement speed if the owner is a melee champion.
Nidalee Model's reverted
Tucking this down here because I'm not sure if it was an error, some sort of delay, or a response to community dissatisfaction , but Nidalee's models have been reverted from her visual update models to her normal, triangle feet models. I assume this is only temporary and her new models will make a return shortly.

"yes, this is intended. we've finished her pbe testing cycle for now.
we're going to go through all the feedback and notes we've gathered from this period and see what final changes she'll need. once we're all done, we'll put her back on the pbe (along with updated splash art) for a final round of testing to make sure her debut to live is smooth.
i won't close out this thread in the meantime—everyone is welcome to continue posting/discussing the visual update while we wrap up—we'll continue taking comments here until she ships.

ReplyDeleteI don't think mercurial scimitar is supposed to be an every game item. I think its supposed to be really niche and only exists so the item slot that is spent to counter characters does more than just counter that character. This makes it so its high price can be justified. To be honest, I think the entire concept of the item is stupid and seems to just be there to hate on champs like WW, Malz and Mordekaiser.

ReplyDeletefor all those who didn't liked brand new splah art and keep saying that the old one it's better , just please save both pictures and take a closer loock , and u will see that u cant even compare them , the new one it's way better, details incresead alot more , and please take a closer look at the old brand hands , feet , pants and skin ...not saying that the anathomical rules of the human body are completly missing , and brand it's suposed to have a human body shape... anyway the new art it's way better , trust me , i'm an artist ;)

ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with that, but they are still needed so supports end up with some gold.Can't see them being fully removed until they have a hard fix for that (the mastery that gives gold for auto attacking a champion really won't be enough to replace gp10's for supports)

ReplyDelete+2 Gold. I just came here to comment how Avarice was completely broken before the nerf. Yesterday I was talking to a friend about this and a possibly nerf and oh boy, wasn't I right.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised either if in the next patches they decide to remove the GP10 passive on it and only keep the +2g on kill. This is too good for junglers, it's one free extra minion on every neutral camp.
New Avarice passive was broken, they fixed it with this nerf.

I disagree on MS being niche. It gives good AD and MR, there's no reason to not build it on the ADC if there are champions like the ones you mentioned in the opposing team.

I'm afraid of something else than mid-late. It's gonna be devastating in lane! Every gank will have like 100% succes rate since her ult is so huge, that you literally can't dodge it in lane.

ReplyDeleteRioters confirmed that Nidalee's model revert is intended. They just want to work on bug fixes for that model before they put up the new one. Once they do put her new models back up again, it will have her new splash arts.

I agree with you too because I can notice those fantastic details, but the problem is only his face - it looks a ittle bit... like a weak meme. I know that he is meant to feel pain and rage but this face looks more derpy than like a real rage of a flaming man. All other things except the face are brilliant...

ReplyDeleteVery out of date model champs don't get splash updates, as they're having their remodels done soonish. Cho was mentioned as one of Riot's top bunch. However, Sivir, Annie and Taric are top priorities currently.

ReplyDeleteThe problem with Trundle is that he's realle not that good with these team comps. His ult is made to weaken the enemy tank so that the team can burst it down, then leave the enemy team without a tank. When the enemy team got several tanks, or tanky characters, his usefullness falls dramaticaly.

Rammus is definitely a priority, and Malphite and Sion definitely need new art.
ReplyDeleteRammus isn't anywhere near Riot's top priorities, but Sion is. (Those last few I mentioned, Sivir, Annie, Taric + Sion are currently RIOT's (not mine) top priority from their model reworkers. All will get new art soon, as their new models are released.
