A new patch has been deployed on the PBE including new splashes for Xerath and Olaf amongst other things.
Continue reading for a closer look at the new splashes, updates to default wards, changes to the post-VU Rugged Garen and Dreadknight Garen skins, minor balance changes, and what seems to be the return of temporarily free profile icons with the flairs of the teams that made it to the Season 3 World Championship.

Rugged Garen and Dreadknight Garen Updated

Following summoner feedback, both Rugged Garen and Dreadknight Garen have been updated.

Rugged Garen is back to having one large shoulder pad and is significantly more darker and dirtier than before.

Following suite, Dreadnight Garen is much darker over all, sporting darker hair, alterated armor, and several color changes.

Here are some before and after comparisons:

Updated Default Wards

Default wards have received a fresh new coat of paint following the recently announced champion themed wards.

While they don't have any fancy new spawn animations or death animations, here is a short preview of them in-game.

New World Championship Summoner Icons

No official statement on this yet, but a slew of new summoner icons with the flairs of the teams that made it to Worlds have appeared and are available for free use. These icons lack the S3 background of the purchasable icons and will ( speculation ) likely be only be available for free use during the S3 World Championship, just like the team icons from last year.

Balance Changes

* Remember *: The PBE is a testing grounds for new and sometimes radical changes. The changes you see below may be lacking context or other accompanying changes that didn't make it in - don't freak out.

Ryze
  • Base health returned to live value of 360 from 400.
  • Base armor returned to live value of 11 down from 15.
