A new login is now on the PBE, themed around the 2017 All-Star Event!

Snow Battle ARURF


A new game mode is now available for testing on the PBE! Snow Battle ARURF's description:
    "A frigid fate awaits your foes! Fling spells and snowballs in this icy twist on ARURF, featuring League's coolest champions."
    First up, here's Riot Popc0rner with a thread explaining the mode:
    "Summoners! We've got some exciting stuff slated for Snowdown this year, and we'd love for you to check it out on PBE. 
    Snow Battle ARURF 
    ARURF is back, baby! And it brought some winter goodness along for the ride. 
    Summoner Spells:
    • Flash: The same old Flash you know and love, now with a 60s cooldown
    • Ultra (Rapidly Flung) Mark // Ultra (Really Fast) Dash: All that exercise has paid off -- champions can now throw snowballs really, really, really far. Who needs teleport when you can do this every 16 seconds:
    Oh, and do you love Poros? Well, you'll be glad to know that you can now throw them at your foes in both Snow Battle ARURF and regular ol' ARAM. Just slap on a poro icon, and you'll be on your way. All the old poros are back: 
    And they'll be joined by two new poros, Reindeer Poro and Baron Poro
    New Champion Pool:
    • It's cold out on the Rift! Most everybody's inside by the fire, but all the champions who can bear the chill are still around to do battle.
    • All champions with a Snow Day, ice, frost, cold, or winter skin are available to play -- and their icy skins are locked in for you, whether you already own them or not!
    Poro King 
    It's the same Poro King you know and love. And the same poros, too! 
    Snow Battle ARURF isn't going to replace classic ARURF -- it'll only be around for the winter, so jump in while you can.

    Preseason Healthbar Update v3

    Here's Rayven, back with more info on the still in progress Healthbar update:
    "How do you do, fellow kids? We’re back with another iteration on the healthbar update based on feedback. Let’s review what we’re trying to achieve here: 
    Feels
    - Familiar, but better (no relearning, no change to things like last hitting)
    - Game to game differences, not moment to moment
    - Interacting with objectives is more satisfying
    - Interacting with defensive windows is more satisfying (heals, shreds, etc)
    - Bodying fools feels better than ever. 
    Gameplay
    - Easier to track the flow of a fight.
    - More intuitive play/counterplay around defensive windows.
    - More intuitive play/counterplay around unique mechanics (extra life, unstoppable, etc).
    - Huge clarity gains when spectating and watching streams. 
    V3 Changelist
    - Ammo resources like Jhin, Corki, Annie have the same treatment as Live.
    - Lots of color tweaks and some sizing tweaks.
    - Lots of animation tweaks.
    - Tower burst, shake, and death animations are in.
    - Option to turn off shake animation coming this week.
    - Baron’s healthbar now stays in place rather than bouncing all over.
    - Resurrecting state improvements. 
    Future Stuff

    - Damage over time
    - Color code objective takes
    - Kill streaking
    - Stealth state

    Here’s a spiffy video which shows the changes in a real game setting. Note, there’s a few spectator bugs here such as dragon health is grey, etc. Try to ignore those <.<

    Miscellaneous 

    • An option to hide the preset runes pages is now in the client:
    • As noted by Riot Orphyre on twitter, the Mecha Aatrox and Mecha Kha'zix chroma have been updated to keep some of their chroma color when transformed.
    • Zoe's in-client bio was tweaked slightly:
    OLD: "As the aspect of youth, imagination, and change, Zoe acts as the divine messenger of Targon, heralding the major events that reshape worlds, before disappearing for hundreds or even thousands of years. Zoe's very presence alters the arcane mathematics which perhaps explains the breezy nonchalance with that she approaches the task and her tendency to focus instead on playing games, tricking mortals, or otherwise amusing herself. An encounter with The Everchild can be joyous and life affirming but it is always more than it appears... and always extremely dangerous."

    NEW: "As the embodiment of mischief, imagination, and change, Zoe acts as the cosmic messenger of Targon, heralding major events that reshape worlds.
