6-8 PBE: Pet Move Icons,New Summoner Ability for the custom ARAM game mode, and Models

More ( minor )  goodies from the 6-8 PBE.

First, there are some new icons sitting around the PBE folders.
Icons for Morde, Anni, Shaco, and Yorick
These icons appear to be for controlling minions. They are probably going to replace an ultimate ability, after it goes on cool down, for easier navigation of your Summoner. Beats using alt+click, doesn't it? Hopefully this change makes it to live soon, but lets get our hopes up.

Secondly there is a new Summoner skill, called Barrier, that has been implemented for the upcomung ARAM Proving Grounds map.


As you can see in the picture above, it is indeed limited to custom games only and provides a temporary damage shield to your champion. Compared to heal, this is a trade off between Survivability ( short duration burst shield for when you know you are going to take hits ) and Sustainability ( heal gives permanent health back, but can be reduced by abilities, ignite, and other summoner heal debuffs ). According to RiotNome, one of the reds behind the project, "It's a new Summoner Spell for Proving Grounds that didn't make it to the PBE release. During development, it replaced Recall, but we since decided it best fit as a Summoner Spell."

Lastly, we have a few files from Jayce and the new olaf skin. The picture below, given to me by Skin Spotlights, shows Jayce's "wall sides" ( based on file names ), beside "Russian Knight" Olaf's axe model and, next to that, his shields for ult.
While this doesn't do much for us, it might give a spoiler for what type of hero Jayce is, thematically. it seems to be that Jayce's lightning wall ability ( taken from the list of animations ) might be hex-tech in origins. It may just be me, but those look like contraptions fit for firing lightning.

    Any news on the Dreadknight Tryndamere skin, or Jayce models?

    No Jayce models and there is an animation for Dreadknight tryndamere, no pictures though.

    No idea. As it wasn't included functionally, I doubt it would come out next patch

    I would agree with that, and its been a common theory that Jayce is the 101st champion, rather than the 100th.

      Well the recent 100th champ spoilers of not from Noxus and does not have big boobs point to it being Jace. Unless its a flat chested female from Demacia, I believe it's Jace. I can still be proven wrong.

      the 100th champ will most likely not be a male (not a male human at least) and by the sounds of it jace sounds like a male. anywho we need a female we need a mage and we dont need noxus nor do we need demacia.. we need a void champ or possibly a fejord champ, like oh say Ashes other sister lissandra the ice dervish. Ashe did just get a model update and sej has been free more recently not to mention she has had multiple sales for her or her skins recently

    Nevertheless I really feel sad by the aspect "no plans for matchmaking" for Prpving Grounds... The only thing that bothers me is placing it in "Custom" tab. Leavers will destroy this gamemode and all your effort might be wasted. What can Riot lose when implementing it in matchmaking? I really only see the pro's and no contra aspects for that ...

      Its to do with balance, riot has to balance 3 maps already across all ELO ranges have this as a official and balanced mode would be impossible with out it impacting the other modes, witch they work hard to keep inline.

      No one expects this mode to be balanced. Its just that they put one month of effort into this - which is great - but without matchmaking, they somehow throw this away ... With 80% leavers (I estimate that) and nearly 0 IP this mode will not be as popular as it could be with a proper matchmaking.

    The main reason, at least that I assume, is it is not an officially supported game type/mode/map. It was done by a handful of friendly Rioters to help with something a fraction of the community really enjoys. The map is not new or polished and the game mode is not something Riot wants to support full time ( i.e balance changes or whatever ). Having something like this, a small treat, on your "main course" of game types could be misleading or confusing for players, new and old a like.

      I saw that, but I'm hesitant to post it as it's from a non english site comprised of mostly fan art. It seems to match up the textures that popped out, yet it might not be legit. I think I'm going to hang back on this for a moment.
