Probably the biggest question on your mind is "WHERE IS THE MID-JULY PATCH!?". While we usually see patches deploy very late into the night on Monday and be ready for play on Tuesday, we haven't heard anything about the release date of this highly anticipated patch. Phreak commented on the matter saying the following:
"...We had intended to patch on Monday night, as is fairly typical for us, but we're in the process of ironing out bugs. We have a meeting every day where people get in a room and say, "Okay, is today's build good enough to ship to our players?" The answers on Monday evening and today have both been "No."So you're TL:DR for the patch release is "when it's ready"
We are working as hard as we can to ship this patch out to you guys. I know you've waiting long and hard for the stuff in the next update"
Riot has published a new champion spotlight for Twitch to accompany his upcoming skill rework. Check out League's sneakiest rat in action:
Xerath's ultimate has been a hot topic on the forums. Between butchering it's cast time one patch and unsuccessfully reverting it on another, it's been a fickle issue for players and Rioters alike. FeralPony posted today saying that in the upcoming patch it has been reverted to it's previous form, save for a few changes to the indicators.
"I checked this again this afternoon to be absolutely sure due to some of the comments in response to the PBE (the first version that went out to PBE was a tad slow it turns out) and can confirm again that next patch will have the original timing from button press to impact (I frame by framed each version pre and post patch to be totally certain).
The only difference is the visual green indicator ring appearing slightly earlier and the explosion matching when the damage is actually applied. I realize the timing of the barrages and casting etc can be a bit confusing because the numbers I listed assume a number of perfect conditions that won't happen in a realistic setting but I am confirming again the timing next patch is the same as pre-Draven just with the visual effects appearing slightly earlier."
Lastly we had a small quip from ohmikegoodness, a Senior Animator at Riot, about champion reworks and the new recall animations Riot's been adding to recently released champions. He said, on the matter of champion getting new recall animations when they receive future model/animation updates, "I, ohmikegoodness will say that there will be recall animations for redos". Champions who currently have recall animations include Draven, Darius, and Jayce. Ezreal also has one included in his fancy Pulsefire Ezreal skin.
Also Muay Thai Lee Sin has a recall animation :D
