We finally have some information about the Romance of the Three Kingdom's skins discovered in the PBE files a while back! Lu Bu Jarvan IV and Zhao Yun Xin Zhao were both unveiled at a recent event celebrating the one year anniversary of League of Legends in China.

The two skins are based off the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, a historical novel revolving around a section of early Chinese history. I'd be lying if I said this was my strong suite, as I learned about ROTTK by means of the Dynasty Warriors franchise, where both Lu Bu and Zhao Yun serve as playable characters. At any rate, here are some shots of the skins courtesy of BrotherChaun on reddit.
No time frame on these skins just yet, but we can safely assume skins of this caliber will be available on all regions / servers. I'd also wager that Lu Bu and Zhao Yun won't be the "official" names.

ReplyDeleteThey didn't do Olympics skins this year because the Olympic committee made the price of using the Olympic emblem ridiculously expensive. A lot of games that normally celebrate the Olympics with in-game events were unable to because the price of licensing the logo was too high.

ReplyDeleteThat Zhao Yun Xin Zhao Skin is not right, Zhao Yun was known as the Jade Spear Warrior, so blue is the wrong color, it should be green instead.

DeleteYeah Because Shu is represent as the Green country in all R3K game, but Zhao Xin almost always wear BLUE no matter what, i don't recall seeing him wearing green in the DW franchise at all.
DeleteTo be honest i think they play the "Safe card" even if it's a novel, 90% of people who know about R3K only know if from dynasty warrior, so they keep design close to these in DW, so that way random guys won't like " WTF IN DW HE'S NOT LOOKING LIKE THAT QQ" without even knowing that character doesn't belongs to DW

ReplyDeleteWow, Xin Zhao was the first champ I played in League, and I was always like it would be so awesome if they had a Lu Bu skin for him. Now my dream has come true, but they give the Lu Bu one to Jarvan IV, who I never play. Time to perfect a whole new champ, because he's all I'm ever gonna play once these skins come out.
