9-24 PBE Update ( cont. ):More Pieces of the upcoming Honor System

Remember the Honor system, Riot's upcoming positive feedback initiative that allows players to "report" teammates for being standup players? While we saw a bunch of files added in the initial Kha'Zix PBE patch, it seems a few more pieces of the still incomplete system may have sneaked their way into the most recent PBE patch and, thanks to Pabro from reddit, I'm able to share them with you!
Screen caps of the the new animations from the "kudos.swf" file within the PBE client.
Continue reading for a sneak peak at some of these unfinished resources!

( Warning: While these files are indeed in the PBE client, all of these assumptions are purely speculative and I could be wrong; Moobeats make mistakes sometimes )
First up is a set of animations, which I'm assuming is based on the four categories of Honor- Friendly, Teamwork, Helpful, and Honorable.
Along with the above animations, we have these four colored... erm... "doohickeys".
We have one for each type of  animation in the earlier video and, seeing as how they were attached to the rest of the loading screen resources, I believe they are going to be some sort of badge to let your allies know just how honorable of a player you really are. My guess is after X amount of Honor reports you will be treated to a fancy animation and awarded with your literal badge of Honor.

Please remember the Honor system is still being implemented and this is only a sneak peak at some of the resources being added into the PBE. The only thing we know for certain is that these resources are in the files.

  1. Are "last" people the natural enemies of "first" people?

    1. I hope they put same "honor" people in the same queue (assuming you're not at 2600).

    2. They should allow you to queue on either skill (ELO) or honor. Then you play with ELO when you want to be matched against equally skilled enemies, and you play with honor when you want to be matched against equally nice players.

    3. This would be retarded. It would ruin the system, idc how nice you are, if you are 1500 and some super nice 800 elo scrub ruins your game...

somehow that niceness melts away, that said, AFTER ranking people based on elo for teams, it would be nice to have it sort by honor as well. (except for those people starting out would be with jackasses...) Yeah I don't think it's a good idea.

  5. nice idea but wont premade always "report" their friends as honotable even if they arent? i should not be possible for premates to rate each other or the system wont work..

    1. there was hints from riot (cant find the source now, but it was in one of the threads about honor in forums) that they will try to prevent and monitor this kind of situations so people dont abuse the system

    2. No, because my friend is a douche bag and I know it, and he deserves to be coupled with other douche bags who think that calling top as last pick entitles them to top, and then pick top and troll if someone else takes it. I guess a**holes who are friends of a**holes might though. Maybe the current report system will get another option to accommodate that case.

    Please don't be faulty.

Oh I swear if this gets abused like DoTA2's I will cry.

    But yes.
This should be how ELO is judged.
    CIAO ELO HELL.
HELLO PLAYERS WHO AREN'T IDIOTS AND ARE NICE!

    1. Exactly my thoughts!

This way already experienced players on 30, starting their ranked games, could be separated from ragers and general trolling community. I can't express my feelings when my third 30lvl account gets stuck on sub-1000 rating only because my team can't behave properly. While I can admit I'm not doing exceptionally good in every match, majority of games are spoiled by mean people.

    2. Don`t want to sound mean bro, but if 3 your accounts in a row fell down to a 1000 rating, then well...

Statistically at low elo you have 5/9 chance that the worst feeder will be in the enemy team and only 4/9 chance that he will be in your own team. Which means that in a long run you should gain more elo that you lose, even if you can`t really carry the games - not feeding and not provoking others to feed unnecesarrily (i.e. by yelling at them on chat) should be enough.

    3. While this is true, a lot of times at low ELO I find myself overwhelmed by the sheer badness of people. I can't seem to carry myself out because my best role is support, and i tanked because my carries couldn't take advantage of good situations.

I'm not the best player in the world and i have had several games where I lost the lane early or made poor decisions. But I still think i don't deserve where i am (low 900)

    4. 3 different tries, and you ended up in the same place, you say the system is flawed, id say its very consistent and though its painful to hear accurate. 3 tries is way more than most people get if you were meant to be higher you would be.

    5. You don't sound mean, because it clearly looks like I was lacking the skill and I fully understand your point. But as another Anon added, sometimes, it's not enough, I can lose 4-5 games in a row, winning a whole lane, having positive score and positioning, but I can't actually carry alone. While you can carry games with fed cookiecutter champions, some of them just simply can't do that, no matter how well you played them so far. If a bot lane loses a tower in 6th minute, then no matter how good you are, you're gonna have a bad time in 90% of cases.

    6. Earlier this day, in 900(850?) Elo ranked game, one player spammed "omg idiot LB say ss" and "fu cker bitch report lb no ss", and when I told "lol go ahead, report me for not saying ss, I'm also gonna report you for offensive language", he said "lol you can't to that, I wont get banned"
I was shocked, and laughing in the same time.

tbh, I wasn't doing very well(not so bad either), and clearly I didn't remember to say ss when enemy left the lane, I was looking for good opportunity to safely gank bot. I admit, if I cared more, I could say ss, but his reaction was totally unexpected. Do people behave/react like that at higher elos too? I don't say I belong to (for example) 1800 Elo(even I played vs some premade 1900 elo ppl, and I had feeling that we lost game because of just 1 my stupid mistake), but I think I belong to AT LEAST silver elo range :)

Also, one thing I'd like to add, his "...I wont get banned" made me think. Do only 1/2 of them get banned after 1 month of harassing? Or no one does? More tribunal related, ik

    7. I spend a lot of time on Tribunal, being 1.9k at the moment of writing this (actually not, because they changed it again) and only one player of all I reviewed has received a timed ban. Worth noting, this case consisted of 5 different games with 27 reports which equals average 5 reports per game and that's an astounding amount, I mean, you need to be really a pain in the ass to achieve that. Most of them get only warnings.

I guess Tribunal should become much more strict. Most of the cases, where the only report cause was saying "you fucking idiot" or something like that, went pardoned or punished -- but by minority. People tend to forgive such "mildly" rude behaviour, which is not really a good reaction.

Anyway, continuing with the ELO matter, let's just skip the luck/bad luck streaks, the thing is - Honor system will vastly improve the situation of worthy and friendly players in ranked games, not to mention support players, who currently feel unloved and it's actually justified. While being AD carry lets you sometimes to lead your team to the victory despite being overall clearly worse than the enemy, playing support in such case renders you unable to turn the tides of the game.

    8. You took Le Blanc in soloqueue. So much for your skill-level. You will only get out of elohell watching streams or gettig carries... Because sincerely, Le Blanc dude, guess why she's never in competitive play?

  9. So it seems that the 'doohickeys' are a ribbon, I'm guessing which overlays your summoner icon at a certain level of Honor, which would be nice to pick out friends that you would play with more. It marks pretty naturally. The awesomeness of the animations, I don't know what the heck is going on there.

  13. The animations look cool. I really like the idea about honor in general, since honor is what makes you a true man. Although this will probably be abused somehow.

    1. Then counter the abuses.

Only players 15+ level can "honor-vote".
Player A can reward the Player B only once.

Prevents friend-farming and making multiple accounts.
I guess it would do the trick.
