Co-OP vs AI on the new Twisted Treeline
"Hey all, we're super excited to announce that Twisted Treeline will ship day and date with complete bot support. That means you'll be able to queue up on Twisted Treeline with friends in Co-op vs. AI, or load up some bots for practice in custom games!Additionally, Veigar has joined the bot roster!
This should be enabled on PBE now with a couple of issues we weren't able to fix in time for the build:
1) The bots on top lane will occasionally path through Vilemaw's lair instead of staying in lane (oops)
2) Bots have a chance to get stuck jittering back and forth on the edges of the jungle (you'll know when it happens)
Both of these issues should be fixed with the next deploy, but let us know if you see any other issues!

"Hi all, here are our takeaways from yesterday's ward skin feedback.Shadow Isles & Harrowing skins - Legacy or not?
1) Most players like the idea of ward skins.
2) Most players dislike the idea of rental content, especially for RP, and when that content cannot be purchased permanently.
3) The Shadow Isles ward skin test has some flaws, which have been covered in detail in other threads.
4) The ward skin communication made those flaws worse.
The Shadow Isles event will still take place as planned, but this feedback has been heard and will impact our approach going forward for ward skins and other new types of content. This remains a test of player interest in seasonal ward skins for rent, and of ward skins impact on gameplay, not the beginning of a master plan to move League of Legends to a rental business model. New types of content going forward will rarely if ever be available for rent. For ward skins longer term, if they stay in the game, there will be a selection of permanent ward skins that are always available. There may also be permanent wards skins that can only be purchased for a limited time, as well as seasonal options available for rent. I will keep the community updated as those decisions are made and the reasons behind them.

That poll just makes me upset, they closed it within an hour of starting it. It really seems like Riot already had their mind made before the poll even started.

You only need a small percentage of feedback to make a good estimate. It was decided in the past, the poll wasn't for a chance it was just for data. Regardless of the outcome that poll served it's purpose. Needless to say the first people to jump on it are more highly valued anyways, since it shows true interest, and not QQ/Tableflip/1st people which don't have any weight anywho.
DeleteWe as players have shown interest in more legacy skins, I think this is what they saw as well. The poll was probably brought down BECAUSE of the fact that such large interest was shown, and if you think about it IF they had kept it up, it would have only damaged the community all the more. Seeing as it's obvious they HAD already made their plan up.

ReplyDeleteThe took all choice in decision. Shadow Isle skins had 39 percent that just wanted them to stay while 17 percent wanted them all to stay. Harrowing only had 17% + 5%. Votes for Shadow Isle being legacy was 40% + 5%. And For The Harrowing was 39% + 40%. That is how they did it. Shadow Isle stays and Harrowing become legacy.

At the time, Option #4 was leading over Option #1 by a good 2 or 3%.
Either way Shadow Isle skins come out on top and remain permanent.

Now it doesn't quite get to me knowing I have the possibilty of saving up on a fourth of the total amount of cash I would spend on sale day than I would for buying them the first day

ReplyDeleteThey stopped the voting at a certain point where harrowing legacy was in the lead, although I believe there should be a recount. The shadow isles skins are great but the champions there for already have nice skins, the only reason I would buy them is if they were legacy.

I'm totally buying Zombie Brand, first of all because it looks bad ass, not to shove it in anyone's face. Besides, I mainly play mid, so why not try this guy I bough long ago but I never got to play much? That's my way of thinking. I know buying a skin for a champion you don't use is lame. Call me lame if you want. I'm just going to buy a really cool skin and enjoy it as much as possible :)

Delete50% percent of the apeal for Headless Hecarim was the fact that it might only be available for a limited time, but instead they put much lower quality skins for the legacy (Brand's skin is awesome, if anything it should be legendary + Full time availability)

Imho the only reason to buy a new skin day1 is limited availability or legendary status (aka no sale ever).
I'm not sure SI skins will ever be on sale, since the Lunar Revel ones haven't been on sale. I think the skins related with Holidays/Events, even if they are permanent, can't be on sale. It's just what I think though, we'll see in the next sales, I guess.

For those who're obsessed with legacy skins... Zombie Brand is still there, which is quite an amazing and hilarious skin.
That's the one thing I kinda hate about legacy skins. I've only started playing LoL in February of this year, and because of that, I've missed out on some wonderful skins.
DeleteSure they aren't as special if everyone has it, but once Halloween is over and the New Year comes, most people will stop playing with their Harrowing/Shadow Isles skins anyways. If you're the only one using it even if everyone has it, you still kinda get that feeling of having a special skin.

At least it saves some people the need of rushing out and picking up 4 or 5 of the skins which is a lot of money on something that doesn't impact the game drastically.

Even though the Hecarim one isn't legacy I'm still going to buy it. I enjoy flaunting my skins in front of others as much as the next guy, but I'm not going to change my views just because it's not a limited time offer. Both these skins are badass and belong to two of my favorite champs so I'm still buying with no hesitation.
