Are we all rested and recovered from all the exciting
S2 World Championship stuff? Shall we usher the first Monday under the reign of our new World Champions ( who I won't disclose in case someone has made it THIS far without it being spoiled for them ) with a handful of red posts?
Continue reading for a trio of red posts - one mentioning we can expect mastery changes for S3, the next talking about the art teams intentions to address champion scale/size, and the last one promising an upcoming fix for some particle bugs on
Janna and
Championship Riven.
Remember the
revamp of the mastery trees from the beginning of season two? Well,
Morello mentioned that something similar to that is in store for the upcoming season.
"In Season 3, we'll be doing a series of mastery changes (much like what we saw for Season 2). FeralPony and I will be giving more details once it's a bit more locked down."
Between this, the items overhaul, and all the
other big projects we keep hearing about, it looks like were in line for a storm of change coming into Season 3.
Our next red posts comes as a reply to a summoner inquiring about why some champions are so much taller or scaled up than others, citing how absurdly tall new
Soraka is and the difference in overall size between
Pentakill Sona and other
Sonas as specific examples.
RiotNarya tossed up a
reply, saying:
"Yup, we are aware and are planning to equalize the champs so the lineup makes sense from a scale perspective. Many of the champs are, in fact, off scale. Compare MF to some of the Sona models for example. Those are both female champs of approximately the same height, etc. and they are very different. Don't have an exact timeline but it's on the radar!"
A few of you may have noticed the charge up particle on Janna's Howling Gale has been a bit darker since the
10-11 live patch. Similarly, a few of you may have also noticed that the
newly released Championship Riven skin, which feature's a cast of blue colored particles, has the an out of place green particle on her Q. As you probably guessed, these are both mistakes and
ricklessabandon commented that they will be remedied shortly,
saying:
"excluding frost queen janna, the start up particle on howling gale and the feather particles on zephyr are missing their textures so they appear all black or blue (respectively) right now.
it's a mistake on our part and will be fixed in the next patch along with riven's broken wing particles.
sorry about that… ; _ ;"

DeleteI don't think they are buffing the size, just making it uniform, take aristocrat vayne for example clearly larger then the other skins.
DeleteActually, I read all of Narya's posts and they are planning to scale all of the champions similar to lore. For example, the new Twisted Fate, which is even larger than Soraka, shouldn't be anywhere near the size of Morde after the rescale project.

DeleteYeah, that models scale sizes were very strange indeed. Mord is a bit tinny too imo. About those bugs, lol how about them getting the lags, DCs and so on fixed?

Before they do anything they should investigate the glitch on rivers Q that gives her 5 broken wing attacks with 1 initial cast, it goes 1,2,1,2,3

its not just 5 broken wings, she can do 8 with a bit of luck, since that bug is pure luck when mashing Q too fast :)

ReplyDeleteIt was a year ago, not exactly slamming us with overhauls.
DeleteI also notice that if you take Mordekaisere's model he looks very little compared to what soraka or w/e those huge champions look like. Therefore I give kudos to riot for fixing the scaling of characters.
ReplyDeletei kinda that is good that some champions are taller than others. True that Morde should be taller than all of them, but Soraka should be taller than most humans, at least female humans... That would give her a bit of Na'Vi feeling :D

DeleteTo redeem the skin, go to the ingame store and scroll down to the "Code" tab and enter it there.
DeleteFinally they noticed how a lot of champions sizes don't make sense. They should also fix Karma, Vayne skins, Fiora. Mundo, Blitz and Mord should be bigger aswell. There is probably more....
