Price reductions, DFG nerfs, and more on Icons & Ward Skins,

Continue reading to catch up on what Hippalus had to say about the upcoming Sinister Summoner Icons, Ward Skins, and champion price reductions, as well as read up on Morello's opinion of the DFG nerfs.
Upcoming Summoner Icons
Hippalus took to the forums to address some issues and complaints regarding the upcoming Sinister Summoner icons, awarded to players who have purchased a certain amount of RP between October 1st and November 13th. He mentions both an alternative way for summoners to earn these icons, by spending RP instead of just buying RP, and that they plan to award icons for things like lifetime RP purchases in the near future.
"Hi all – I’ve heard your concerns with the summoner icon rewards and wanted to communicate more on the background of why these icons were created.

We have plans to provide players with permanent summoner icon rewards for many different things over the next several months, including lifetime RP purchases as well as good behavior in game. The Shadow Isles summoner icons were specifically designed to reward players for participating in the Shadow Isles and the Harrowing offerings, with some of the icons being extremely rare for those who provide the greatest amount of support. However, I understand the frustration of those who feel they haven’t been rewarded for past RP purchases, or for other contributions such as being a great player in-game, but I can assure you, it is coming.

Also, players have raised the fair point that under the current plan they will not even be rewarded for buying Shadow Isles or Harrowing content with RP that they had purchased prior to October, and I agree that doesn’t really capture the spirit of the promotion. Therefore, a few days after the end of the promotion, we will retroactively grant Shadow Isles icons to players if the RP spent from October 1 – November 13 is greater than the RP purchased during that time and qualfies them for an additional tier of rewards."
In case that end part was a little confusing, he clarified by saying:
"Yeah I know it's somewhat confusing - I'll try again.There are two ways to earn these icons.

#1) By buying RP between October 1 - November 13. It doesn't matter when you spend it. The total amount of RP bought determines which tier you earn. Icons earned this way will be distributed DURING the Shadow Isles promotion.

#2) By spending RP between October 1 - November 13. It doesn't matter when you bought it. The total amount of RP spent determines which tier you earn. Icons earned this way will be distributed AFTER the Shadow Isles promotion (and only if you haven't already been given the icon)."
However if you earn your icons by this new option of spending RP ( regardless if it was bought online or redeemed through a card ) , you'll have to wait until after November 13th to get them.
"Exactly. Icons earned this way will be distributed after the promotion is over. Icons earned by purchasing RP will be distributed on an ongoing basis throughout the promotion beginning within the first 24 hours after the Shadow Isles patch."
Hippalus also remarked about the future plans for holiday icons, saying:
"No plans yet for future holidays, but it is more likely we will focus on rewarding other things besides RP buying/spending during the winter holidays."
Ward Skins
Similar to the above, players greeted the newly announced ward skins with a hearty dose of criticism, particularly critical of the fact they are temporary unlocks. Hippalus also made a post addressing these concerns and explained what they hoped to achieve with what he refered to as the "Ward Skin Experiment".
"Hi, Hippalus here. For those looking to rage about ward skins being available for rental only, let's do it on this thread.

The long term plan if the experiment is successful is to have ward skins available for permanent purchase at a reasonable price (similar to regular skins). But, the problem with selling a new type of permanent content without testing it first is that it doesn't work for some reason (lack of interest, interferes with gameplay), there is no good way to remove it because it has been permanently sold to players.

My idea was to test ward skins as part of an event, in a way that would make it easier to end the experiment if it doesn't work, hence ward skins at a reasonable price for a week or two during the Harrowing/Shadow Isles. Is it a perfect experiment? No. Does it hurt players? I don't think so. Players who are against the concept of rentals should feel free not to participate, but I hope to still gather enough data and feedback to help us decide if ward skins should become a permanent or temporary part of the game going forward."
He also elaborated on this a bit more, saying
"We all play LoL and want it to be around for many, many years, and we try to make decisions with that in mind. If ward skins prove to not be viable for some reason, it does not make sense to maintain a tab in the store or to have our in-game design team account for them indefinitely into the future. That tab in the store would someday need to be replaced by a tab for something that players want and that makes the game better.

Therefore, we had a couple choices. We could have done months of research to develop and justify a launch plan for making ward skins a permanent part of the game. Instead, we came up with a plan that could be implemented in weeks and that would give us much more relevant information (although admittedly not perfect). This experimentation process may be somewhat more painful in the short term, but a few years from now I have no doubt that our game will be better because of these types of tests, not in spite of them."

Upcoming Price Reductions
Hippalus also mentioned that we will be seeing some price reductions on Cassiopeia, Kog'Maw, Corki, and Anivia soon, saying:
"There will be another round of price reductions at the end of the month. Cassiopeia and Kog'Maw will be lowered to 4800 IP and 880 RP, while Corki and Anivia's RP cost will be reduced to 790 RP.

We are also still working on a long term champion pricing plan that will add more certainty to price reductions going forward. I will present the proposed plan as soon as I have a little more data from the recent price reductions and I have gotten more feedback internally."
 Deathfires Grasp Nerfs
Morello shared his thoughts about the recent PBE nerfs that removed the CDR and vastly reduced the damage on Deathfires Grasp.
"Well, to be unpopular, they dialed down my suggestion. I wanted to remove it from the game.

I think that item's existence destroys diversity and interest - you should just use DFG on all burst casters, and all balance needs to factor in an extra nuke. There's no case where DFG is good and DFG isn't abusive - that basically is the definition of toxic."

    6. Riot DOES benefit from IP though.... The fact that you even play the game gives them money, no matter if you buy anything or not. You're just another statistic to their marketers.

      Also, the more you play, the more influence it gives over to you. The fact IP is free is nice, buy playing so many games with X champions gives you more influence to buy in a quicker fashion.

    8. No, they didn't introduce the 4800 ip until Trundle and he was the only one who had it for a while. They gave away 1 skin just for playing that year, others if you played rank up to a certain point etc. They never reduced anyones ip back then except maybe near the end of the season. The IP gain isn't 'way less than what it was', it's not that much less than it used to be - they just changed the amount you earn to how long you were in a match, and yeah it became lower but not by much at all. You obviously didn't play during season 1 either.

    10. you recieved UFO corki if you signed up alone that year. champ and skin. and king rammus was given out to every beta tester there was. also judgement kayle was given out to playing ANY 10 games by the end of the season. ranked, bots, whatever. thats 3 champs and 3 free skins. The IP rate lowered a lot. Lolwiki is constantly updated so you can't see what it was before previous versions, but theyve been nerfing it slowly. That should be obvious to even full season 2 players.

      Shut the fuck up, and making IP sinks for people who play too much is a bad thing, why? If you don't have a lot of time to put into a game like a lot of us then, then deal with that shit and buy RP and quit bitching like a little girl. If you don't have the money to spare to buy RP, then again, quit your bitching and save your IP till you can buy the champ that you want.

    17. IP prices are ridiculous. Seriously, ridiculous. It's a joke to call this game "free", like they want you to believe.

      I don't say they're wrong because they're not, it's a COMPANY and in the end it's all about the money. But they aren't saints either.

      You can't possibly live just by purchasing champs with IP and be satisfied with the game. I have a friend that never bought RP and it's just sad and painful to watch. If you want a 6300 IP champ, good luck on that one. It will take you over a week to farm that amount, and there are over 100 champs in the game. Nice.

      Not to say the skins. I know it's just for the eye-candy but people loves them, and the only way to get it is with RP.

      Again, I'm not saying it's wrong, but it feels greedy indeed, just the fact that they hosted an event with U$2 million dollars prize pool tells you how much money they're making... you can't say the money is needed to maintenance (bandwitch, servers etc), someone is pocketing big with this micro-transaction model.

    18. By the way, forgot to mention about Runes. The only way to get them is with IP, and if you don't buy RP to help you getting champs like this friend of mine, forget about Runes too. He's level 23 with very few champions in his rooster because of the prices and not a single rune. You can't afford to get both.

    19. Yeah I've never spent a dime on LoL. My cousin sent me a $25 gift card and all I could buy was a rune page bundle and shyvana. it sucks but after seeing how much money you have to put in and how much my friends have I don't think I could ever start. I couldn't live with myself if I put over $50 into a "free2play" game. I've been grinding a long time to get all tier 3 runes on those pages, and as a result of playing very constantly for over 2 years; I have a little over 20 champs but only 5 6300s. It's rough. If they keep pushing the limits (dat mecha khazix bundle for goddam 1462, temp wards, pointless honor and tribunal with no reward in sight; an achievements tab that has been up 3 seasons with no plans and will probably also never let you have a true reward: bullshit like that) there's no way I will keep playing. But I guess they already hate players like me to begin with so it's a win-win. It's a fun game, especially with friends; but the psychology of investment->reward becomes less and less to us true free 2 play players.

    20. I feel you, man. But even when using RP you have to think carefully. Never buy champions out of sale and you'll find yourself balling out of control in the rooster business. If you really enjoy the game I'd suggest getting U$25 from time to time, maybe once every couple of months and only buying on sale, you'll do wonders, in 2 months you'll get the same amount of champs you got in 2 years!

    21. I believe it. I have high hopes for their black friday sales, both in the past have been very fulfilling, and without a doubt the highest sales of the season. If it's as good as last year I'll buy a $25 one. But moneypenny is gone, so I don't know if hippalus will be as generous.

    7. teemo is a broken hero indeed. but even so, if you wanna make teemo useful then play him AP for God's sake! Teemo atk speed is completely not viable since his E procs ONCE A SECOND! that means that if you have 2.5 atk speed it will still proc ONCE A SECOND.

      Let me repeat that: TWO ATTACKS IN A SECOND MEANS ONE PROC OF E IN A SECOND!

      So teemo atk speed is like playing cho atk speed just because of his E. Teemo ad carry is stupid cuz he's broken and all his offensive spells scale on what? AH YES: ABILITY POWER.

      Teemo AP is viable because of the high damage from shrooms. Also if you have rylay and your enemy laner gets into a shroom, then he'll be slowed enough to give u time to go to him and kill him. DFG is good on him cuz he is a broken hero and doesn't really do dmg.

      If you're ap and your enemy doesn't go into the bushes then it's unlikely u can use your ult on him; your passive will most likely never be used since you kinda have to lose farm to use it so...teemo has only Q and E.

      And with that I explained why teemo is a broken hero.

    10. Most viable teemo build isn't AP OR AD, it's the on hit effect builds.

      His range is too short to be viable as AD carry, and doesn't scale off AD except auto attack.

      AP, and he is have 1 'nuke'. Then he have his poison which is decent but he can't have too sustained fights still, and will not be able to choose targets because of short range.

      On hit effects build and he will be tank shredder with the Bloodrazor and decent attackspeed, especially with passive. He can OK fast take down even tanks and bruisers then, so his miniscule range doesn't matter.

      Still it's a shitty annoying overplayed champion, and I am not sure if I hate it more when he is on enemy team or my own team.

    11. Also teemo mid is kinda meeh, a real AP carry is to prefer. Teemo bot is useless since then you wont have a real ad carry with proper range, and teemo support is kinda meeh too, no real kill potential in lane.
      You CAN go teemo top, but his team fight potential is weak, he is good in lane though, in some match-ups. If laning ends early your team is screwed over, it's like having Shaco.

    13. I build Teemo - frozen mallet, atk greaves, wits end, deathcap, madreds, GA.

      If you think Teemo is an AD carry then your horribly wrong, if you think you MUST play Teemo AP, then your mistaken.

      I even take HP runes on teemo. I don't normally ever comment on s@20 but seeing some people call Teemo broken and that he relies on DFG just proves the diversity of players mindset's when it comes down to how to play a champ.

    14. To the anon that brought up Tristana, let's compare them both assuming the ADC role:

      Tristana is a Hyper-carry. Teemo has a terrible AA range while Trist's isn't as good early game, she has the longest permanent AA range at level 18. She also has more reliable poke tools for laning bot lane and can avoid counter-harass or ganks with a more reliable escape than Teemo. Trist also has more damage output via her AS buff on Q, something Teemo doesn't have and has to itemize for it. In late game, she's a monster and can constantly reposition herself in team-fights via assists or kills on her W, Teemo has to keep running... wasting time to repostion.

      And that's only assuming the AD Carry role, Tristana as AP is brutally painful and has more damage than an AP Teemo ever will (500 base damage on her ult at max rank plus 150% of her AP!) Teemo will only be good to have map dominance and tank slaying power when building on-hit.

    17. To the person who propose on hit teemo; mix of ap and as is better. Why? You proclaim bloodrazor as your main damage. It is supposedly used to kill tanks. Thing is, it deals 4% magic damage. If a tank has 150 MR (pretty normal even for bruisers midnlate game) it delas 1-2% of their hp instead. If they have 3000 hp, that's 30-60 dmg. For the same amount of money you could buy a Rabadons and have money left. That would increase your ap based on other items, as well as give you 130 ap or whatever it is. Not only would that give just about the same damage on e per hit (which can proc more than once per second, they fixed that), it'# also increase the DoT damage, and massively boost Q and E damage. Similarly, Nashors Tooth and Deathfire synergize well with this, giving you an extra nuke, cd reduction for q and r, and a bunch of ap. Lich Bane, naturally synergizing with q e combo, and and then Void Staff further adds to the nuke and gives you magic pen. Since Ryulas doesnt proc with e, it's optional and only good if you die a lot, albeit I prefer zhonyas since you can put down shroom then zhonyas, allowing the shroom to go active before melee attackers can attack again, which is really funny and quite useful :3

    19. On the subject of Tristana, and riot wanting to maintain variety in this game, removing DFG would destroy AP Trist. She doesn't have enough burst to be viable without it. Don't get me wrong, she has a lot, but not enough to shut someone down like LB or Veig can.

    21. the idea that tanks are too strong comes from a lack of farming, carryies scale very well with gold, and APs are a second, tanks have very stong base stats but tend to have less scaleing with items purchased, this strong base strength makes them "idiot proof". if your haveing trouble with tanky lineups it means your strong scaleing squishes arnt farming fast enouph.

    22. AP Teemo is way too squishy to be useful, and his range is just...his two burst spells (and his E) all have a short range, which just puts him in front of the enemy team all too easily.

      Of course the recent buffs have made it somewhat viable, but the best way to build Teemo is tanky bruiser Teemo, or more of antibruiser I should say. He can make laning hell for any melee auto-attack based champion and attempt to snowball off of his super duper harass and safe warding.

      I'm not saying AP Teemo isn't viable, but Tanky Teemo is kind of just...much better, however it does fall off late-game with no good scalings...that's the reason why ADC Teemo is terrible as well, combines the cons of both Tanky Teemo and AP Teemo...not good.

      However, the champs you mention also require DFG as their initial damage source to insta-combo people... ESPECIALLY VIEGAR! DFG was always a problematic item to enemies, no lies though.
      AP Evelynn can DFG+Ult you and your dead, near death or a tank with a FoN and just going about your day.
      I don't agree with Morello though, no need to remove it as it would ruin a lot of glass cannon ap builds or champs that rely on those builds. DFG's main problem is the damage on active, there is no need to remove the cooldown portion.

    3. Buying RP and Spending RP are calculated separately, unless he changed it again to combine the calculations. So you buy 4500 during the period, to add onto 500 you had before October started. Meaning you bought only 4500, but you spent 5000 during the period, so it's Tier 4.

    3. A DFG can hit 40% HP by 15-20 minutes its outrageous, considering most AP can 100-0 anything that comes near them its down right horrifying. Now that dfg os so popular mobility is the only thing that matters when considering a mage because burst can just come from dfg.

      Also anon 1 i dont understand why your complaining the logic your trying to male fun of actualy makes sense, nerfing this item will forse more diverse AP builds, buffing other items to compete would just further inflate the power of AP mid. So riot is doing exactly what they need to do.

    4. Honestly I built a dfg on 2 people: Veigar and Evelynn.
      I built it on both for the CDR.
      Dfg is an item that literally allows a squishy APC to kill a tank at full health.
      Which is awesome and it felt great but it is a bit overpowered

    2. Yes they do. Though actually it's 1500 IP. It happened to me with the Irelia reduction. They're more than willing to give the IP back without wasting a refund if you bought it recently enough. All you have to do is ask them through a support ticket.

    5. Yeah man, they used to automatically. I have had 3 different emails last year telling me "hey this champ/skin is on sale, and you just bought it last week, here's you some ip/rp" or whatever just to be awesome... last month I bought urgot while drunk (and the battlecast skin) Then he went on sale not even 24 hours later (I'm an idiot, I knew he was going on sale). I waited 2 days to see if I got another awesome riot email about it, alas, I did not. When I finally messaged them about maybe getting some rp/ip for it. They basically were all "yeah sure thing bro, that used one of you're refunds btw, hope you're cool with taht" I really wasn't cool with that, but hell, what can I do? I love them as a company all the way around, and that is my literal only beef with riot at all (and it's not much of one). Also I say screw dfg, as a kat main, I hate when peeps ragequit when I don't buy one.

  7. Tbh, this ward skin business could be done in a much better way.
    Having temp skins will deter a lot of people from buying them, in the knowledge that they aren't permanent. These could be players that would have bought them, had they been permanent. This results in critically wrong results. A better way would have been for them to advertise them as temp, but promising them back to those who bought them as permanent, if the idea is a success. That way people KNOW it's not definite that they'll keep them, but offers something to those who do buy them if it works out.

    A good item needs to be nerfed because champs who can take advantage of it rarely leave that item out?

    Then why have items at all? Why argue about shrinking the pool when increasing the size of the item pool opens more options and the potential for more slot competition?

    Fact is that so long as items exists the best ones will get bought. Oh so you nerf DFG. Well then if the nerf is too bad you'll see it phased out for some other must-have item.
    And so on.
    And so on.

    Because optimization matters and people will usually shoot for optimal build on a given champion.

    You can either remove items or increase the variety to make for more nuanced purchasing options.

Think of it like this before the DFG buffs mages were buildin either revolver, zohnyahs hour glass, or tier of goddess based on their needs, kages picl to abyssal scepter was also popular, thats divercity, now nearly everymage builds DFG, its like All other item options are a 10 fo the champions thay want them, while dFg is a 12 at worst. If nearly every one rushes the item something is wrong not even AD carries have an item rushed that consistantly across all te champs, and their itemization is probably theost stagnant, the DFG buffs were overboard now they are fixing it.

    2. They just want to get rid of blanket most optimal paths because really whats the point of having items if you know what 4 of your 6 purchases are going to be as soon as you choose a role. They aren't nerfing DFG and saying that'll fix the problem they are nerfing DFG and are preparing new items for Season 3.
      They want it to be like maybe 2 items in your build are always the most optimal and then the rest are decided by your reacting to the other team.

    3. I'm pretty sure I can explain this easily but lets see how everyone takes it.
      As with most games, items in this game are no different. There is a very clear cut order as to what you should buy for MOST positions and MOST champs in those positions.

      All ADC need lifesteal, if you dont have this you lose 1v1s and probably team fights etc. How many adc dont buy bloodthirster? First item, maybe not, but they will buy it. Do you need mad lifesteal like bloodthirster or just some like Scepter.

      Same deal with AP. They need to burst. Are you eve with limited early burst so you buy DFG first? OK but maybe you play ahri or kat and you have good team fight and burst damage and DFG just makes you better.

      Either way you incorporate these best items into your build. But some AP DONT need DFG to be good, ex karthus, cass, lux, oriana, anivia. So what do we see here? Not ALL ap get DFG but (i would say) ALL ADC get lifsteal. All champions are slightly different and abuse things differently. Even before DFG buff veigar got it right? Cuz he doesnt care he just wants all the damage crap he can spam within 2 seconds. Eve happens to be OP with it now, because of double HP% damage as well as her roaming. Who gets killed anyway? Out of place players, mainly adc.

      TLDR; people QQ hard about 1 slight imbalance and they ask to nerf the whole system. nerf dfg and stop AP from bursting your already out of place adc, then might as well nerf adc ability to sustain thru a fight when they are IN the right place.

    4. the thing with DFG is while all carries will end up with an upgrade of BF sword and a phatnom dancer, nearly all mages will rush DFG as a first item. its not just popular its crazy valued, most mages are build to absolutly crush people in the early game, with DFG in their build its guaranteed kills. now pick mages witith strong map mobility say, gragas, ahri, TF, evelyn. push the lane into the turret roam the map and pick up free kills every minute. mages are also designed to fall off late game, burst just doesnt scale like sustain DPS can (kathus and cassiopia are excpetions). but with DFG your looking at about 50% hp off in one hit, once again thats free kills every minute. DFG makes any mage in the game burst like they're a fed veigar, so you can pick options with more mobility range or utility and still maintain that all important burst.

    5. But DFG deals magic damage... coming from a magic dealer... soooo when an AP is fed you buy MR right? % HP is scary but just as DFG on an eve is an early game stomper % damage farmed kogmaw is a late game stomper.

      I think DFG might need a nerf but to be nerfed so hard (% AND CDR, common now) seems un-necessairy. You can stomp a roamer too, just push their lane hard and keep them in lane. Have eve problems? Buy pinks rather than green.

      Besides, I think that when it comes to item nerfs these are unfair to complain about. Champion, yes why not. If one team gets rengar jungle and the other is left with say jax. Both good but fed rengar gg. When it comes to items, both mage can get DFG. Vs and eve? play ahri and roam too. Items dont create one sided games, champions do. If you are worried about a DFG vs your adc, your AP needs to get a DFG to get their adc first or so.

      As for riots point of making it not the first or second picked item by most AP. That issue probably does need to be fixed. Even if both AP can get it, if its that good then why have other items. I agree. But rather than diminish the items in the game, just make more. As for the clearly underpowered ones, dont lower the good ones to that level, make the bad items better? That or nerf all good items.

    6. making the other items better to match the best one leads to power creep, think about it zhonyahs hour glass, revolver, abyssal scepter are all strong starts to begin with could you imagine them being even stronger? or used together? more over power creep has been RAMPANT in AP itemization (they did this on purpose), the massive overhaul to AP items over the past 2 seasons have inflated the power of AP champions as a whole.

      DFG was recently buffed and obviously they whent overboard they're tuneing it back down, i think this nerf is a bit too much (removing the CDR entirely seems a bit outrageous) but im sure a number of champions will still find it desirable. after all the value of an additional nuke is almost impossible to match.

  10. The way I see it, one of three things will happen:
    1) Keep DFG nerfed and consequently keep Evelynn and other champs who rely on it nerfed (because their nerfs happened in tandem)
    2) DFG will be removed from the game and Evelynn and friends will be de-nerfed.
    3) DFG will be utterly changed into something different (like stats and such) and the consequential champs may or may not be nerfed/buffed.

    It's what I foresee but I could be wrong. There is a supposed item overhaul for S3, so we'll see.

I think a reasonable change would be to give it base stats that are useful for a bursty mage (since that's what it's for), say the 15% cdr, 75 ap, and 25% magic pen (to still make it viable against tanks) and then an active which drastically improves ap (like a temporary Rabadon/Woogles) maybe 20%. maybe you'd tack the magic pen onto the active too. I think this builds would be useful for more mages, especially busy, without being necessary on them. There may be some cool interactions to, like vlad popping a dfg to gain temporary hp to survive a chase, or something like that.

  13. So lets get this straight Riot. You want us to pay tonnes of money (I know some of us will be buying skins anyway) to get Summoner Icons. Icons we only see, logging in, in pre lobby, and post game lobby. Sounds...fun... Secondly, if the wards are temporary, then whats the point? If you want players to show they took part in the halloween event, it would be nice TO SHOW PLAYERS. And as for the "new map" Shadow Isles. It better stay. We have over 105 champions and only 2 pvp maps (not including custom games, it doesn't count as a published map). You try pack 105 people into 2 rooms, and see how fun it gets. Rant OVER.

      BTW Dota, the mother of all MOBA games does have 110 Heroes and 1 Map as far as I remember.

  17. I am really glad that the DFG will be nerfed, way too powerful as is it now and needs pretty low/no skill to use so its well deserved.

    You know how this all started with DFG? First it was in the game but almost noone used it, after time went by the the item was buffed and the pros started to pick it up. After it was picked they buffed it again( as far as I can remember they buffed the ability power gain) and so now everyone who saw it on the pros started to pick it up also without even thinking why.

    Maybe you guys should start to think about your item builds and dont just copy the shit out of the Pros, Thx.

    1. This has to be the most stupid comment I've read in a while. No Skill? How about the short range on the item and knowing WHEN and WHERE to use it. It's effectiveness is reduced when used on a tanky champions and ever since the mana regen & CDR have been removed, it's not even worth getting unless it's decreased in price. Morello just wants his item, Morello's evil Tome to be a more viable option on AP mids. Not only that, but champions like Veigar & LeBlanc can't decimate a health bar as well as they used to.

      The only reason the item is being nerfed to the ground is because all the Eve mids have made it a staple item to get on nearly EVERY AP. Another ruined strategy by Riot.

  19. Even without DFG bursting champs already makes tons of damages, they don't need it, why do they give more burst to champions that already have an incredible bursts ? Btw DFG is so OP that even long range champions takes it, even the first DFG who has been removed from the game for his OPness wasn't op that much.

    1. The power of AP mids have been inflating over the course of season 2, for people like me that started before there were seasons, this is quite noticable. The item changes have steadily increased the total AP and stat per cost ratio of AP champs considerably.

  22. The only thing that makes me upset about the dfg thing is that they're removing the cdr bonus.
    For champions like Eve and Karth AP Dps AP dps is how they play. For Eve items like Morello's evil tome are viable and nice but it isn't as good as dfg cuz I'm picking up a Nashor's Tooth on Evelynn and with my Masteries Morello will put my cdr way over the cap so I feel like I'm wasting money.
    For heavy dps champions in general the item pool for cdr isn't very good already.

  23. How can they evaluate if we want permanent ward skins by offering temporary ward skins? I'd pay for permanent ones, but if they're gonna be removed and I paid money with nothing to show for after the event ends, why would I do that unless cash is of no concern? It's like if they removed last year's Hallows Eve skins from the game after 3 weeks.

  27. Difference is that you need to BUY 10k RP in one version to get them all. That way you can save RP for later.

    The other version is you SPEND 10k RP... which not all players may want to at this moment. Such as if you don't want to buy all the Halloween skins.
