    1. seriously now? TPA underdogs? ROFL LOL!! check out the Garena Premier League GPL they're the number 1 team out of 6 teams..and you call them underdogs..just LOL for you! dumass noob..

    2. lol dude, get your shit straight compared to ALL the OTHER teams they where in fact considered the underdogs. Also nice job at making yourself sound like a cumwade with that kind of reply.

      Delete
    3. Because NA teams are really worth mentioning compared to EU/Asian teams

      Delete
    4. At above, there was CLG.EU, M5, AZF, Najin Sword, etc.

      Delete
    5. Only ignorant people calls TPA underdogs, i knew when the tournament was announced that TPA would win no matter the groups

      Delete
    6. You guys are stupid and don't know what underdog means. Taipei assassins were the least known team on international level that made it past the group stage, the only one less recognized was saigon jokers.

People who called them underdogs are ignorant? No shit, sherlock. That's a part of the underdog definition. Nobody expects someone whose name has had no weight in the past high profile tournaments to be a winner, simply because they believe that person to have less high-level tournament experience, and because they don't know the full extent of their abilities.

Also, Garena premier league isn't a tournament where really great teams participate, plain and simple. The first team who gave taipei assassins a challenge in the league was Singapore sentinels, and SGS weren't an incredible team at that time. They simply served as a wake up call for TPA and had them practising hard, as they proved when tpa effortlessly took the cup again.

Therefore, nobody can be blamed for considering TPA an underdog. They were one, as was demonstrated plain and simple.

They however, are an amazing team, and i was hoping they would do very well. However, i'm not fanboying hard enough to state after they won the cup that "herp, i knew it all along". No you didn't, you're not an oracle. Nobody can tell exactly how a tournament would end.

    8. Guess you're not lonely ATM then... There's a destinct lack of caps.

    9. Maybe a more apt description, instead of Underdog, would be that TPA was a dark horse to almost all of the NA scene.

      Delete
    10. Regardless of how good TPA are, no one I know, including myself, had ever even heard of them before. So yes, they were indeed underdogs this time around. Even the NA forums were flooded with people saying AF would stomp them.

      Delete
    11. they were black horses, not 'underdogs'

    13. lol for americans/europeans calling them underdogs...we asians know the taipei assassins for a long time..and so as the other NA and EU teams..we dont only watch tournaments that are for asia only, but for europe and the US..simply put, when those americans/europeans calling them underdogs, doesnt watch asian tournaments..so yeah, fu..

    14. Those who are raging at OP for saying Taipei are the underdogs, you obviously didn't watch the whole stream. When they were interviewed, the guy asked how they feel about being called the underdog team. They said, themselves, they are well aware they're the underdog team on the tournament, they said they know they "suck", and that's why they here at the finals, to show the world that they'll win the underdogs will win the tournament. Please, people, don't jump to conclusions too quickly.

  3. I thought the finals were really good. I'm happy that TPA won, but I would've also been happy if Frost won. All in all it was a pretty good tournament.

  4. Toyz + Orianna = OP
Azubu kind of dug their own grave when they decided not to ban Orianna after they saw just how powerful Toyz was on her.

    But anyways, congratz to TPA!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually they would have to ban Oriana, Karthus and Anivia, if they wanted to idsable Toyz. Considering they wanted some other champ bans, that wouldnt happen anyway

      Delete
  5. That was really fun to watch, really well played by TPA, AF did their best but that wasn't enough to beat the amazing teamwork of TPA.

    ReplyDelete
  6. lol azumu frost got wat they deserve (cheating), they shoulda have been kicked out when they were caught cheated but noo

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. All the Azubu Frost Haters still have to remember one thing. It's that they still won $250,000 minus the $30,000 fine. So yeah make fun of them all you want, because they still received the money and are recognized as probably one of the best teams in LoL

      Delete
    2. You don't think that the cheating allegation pretty much puts a black mark on their reputation? At the very least, Woong's reputation is affected, since he's the offender. There's also rumors abound that the little stint against TSM isn't the only time they, or Woong, has "looked at the global audience map".

      Delete
    3. Cheating from any team (even the team you want to win) is still just terrible. I was for CLG.na and even if they cheated, I would think differently about them.

      Delete
    4. Still don't get why they (Frost) are considered the cheaters and getting raged on by most people. Yes they did check the screen once, and seemingly avioded a huge gank that may or may not have gotten first kill (no way to prove that) no one can deny that.

But correct me if I'm wrong didn't TSM do that twice, that is look at the global map screen? and didn't other teams do it as well? To me its like if a athlete took some kinda steroid to help improve their performance than it didn't help him/her win anything. But either way he/she would still be fined/banned from competing in said event along with the others that did the same thing and had better results from their cheating.

To me all this raging on one team seems a bit petty, and before you ask I am from NA. Stop hounding ABF for something almost all the teams did.

      Delete
    5. Not saying that TSM or anyone else didn't cheat or anything, but if you looked at Riot's announcement on the rules violations, they said that the only game-changing situation was Azubu Frost's. Here's the quote directly from the forum post:

"We evaluated these cases based on intent, severity and tangible impact to the course of the game. Based on our investigation, the Azubu Frost incident is the only one where we determined there to be tangible impact – we believe other members of AzF modified their gameplay (level 1 ping and Jayce brush check) based upon the information gained. We don’t believe, however, that these actions decided the winner of the game."

Again, I don't hate Azubu Frost or anything, just providing explanation for these peoples' comments.

      Delete
    6. I WONDER IF AZF EVER PRACTICED CHEATING, LOL!

      LOOKING UPSIDE DOWN...

  9. Olaf should have taken Maw of Malmortius vs Karthus.... It synergizes so well with Olaf's passive and all he had for MR was a Force of Nature. Not only would that have given him some MR, but also the shield would have blocked practically all of the requiem. Would have been an easy 3-0 win for TPA if Olaf had just built a Maw to cut down Karthus.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Exactly what I was thinking while watching that. Anyways, amazing performance by Stanley, he proved to be the superior top lane player in every possible aspect.

      Delete
    2. I think their main problems was Amumu and sona ulti, both give Frost lot of time to deal enough damage to ad carry/jungle so kathus ulti can finish them off. I noticed that Stanley actually tried to get amumu late game.

      Delete
    3. absolutely, Stanley dominated his lane. But he had only built hp and armor during the lane phase. Once it got to team fight phase, had hadn't rounded out his build yet and Olaf's JOB is to take down the enemy team's biggest threat, which was karthus, since his ult literally lets him run through everything but a terrain effect (wall or pillar).

That and the entire team was focused on killing a slippery ezreal while karthus was just happily pounding out the dps.

      Delete
    4. Don't get me wrong. Props to TPA! They are by all rights the best League of Legends team that competed in the championship. I love seeing their impressive gameplay against AF and M5. Just critiquing a small overlook of theirs.

      Delete
    5. Ezreal was amazing in the first game, zoning out Vayne completely. What Vayne should actually do to further utilize her burst is to follow Ezreal and Irelia by buying GA... GA is the big problem right now, apart from the stats and the mechanic itself. It creates a morale wall, it actively lowers your priority in teamfights. It creates one certain thought - "let's ignore that guy for now, he's not gonna die anyways"... And it actually worked in this particular game - Irelia and Ezreal, after getting GA were practically ignored and survived every encounter nearly unscratched. It's especially useful on heavy burst champions, like Vayne for example. Should she pick GA and just ignore Ezreal's poking, she would probably do much more damage and even "die", effectively avoiding Karthus' Requiem while being reborn and then finish remaining AZFers off. Just a quick thought.

      Delete
    6. While Maw would have been a better item to build on Olaf like you said, it would not have been an "easy" win. Every teamfight, there were around 2-3 survivors on AF, usually Ezreal + support near full health. Olaf would have been near death, he would have gotten dropped.

It definitely would have been an improvement over FoN, but it wouldn't have changed anything.

  10. Maybe if Azubu Frost had a chance to peak at the map they would've had a better chance at winning.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There's no maybe about it, if they could see the whole map they would have had a better chance at winning. Unlike TSM, you could give them all the advantages in the world and most of the other teams in this tournament would destroy them.

  11. I dont see any member of Azubu frost crawl out and look at the map.

    1. Haha! I felt really bad for them. Honestly, investing an hour to work out isn't really all that difficult. 30 minutes of weight training and 30 minutes of cardio about 5 times a week would do all e-sports dudes some good! Couple that with a solid diet plan and these guys would probably feel a lot better, perform better, and look better to boot. Hell, if they are really that pressed for time do some tabata in-between those long as hell queues.

  33. Just a quick question (it's probably been addressed, but I just started my second job and have been helping my brother move, so cut me some slack on the ignorance):

How come Azubu Frost didn't get disqualified if they had been caught cheating? I had heard there had been a fine levied against them, but I thought that cheat, in the World Championship no less, would result in a disqualification.

Or is that now how it works in eSports?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They actually got fined $30,000 from their total winnings.
They didn't get disqualified since it was only Woong who cheated, and the advantage that they gained, albeit an advantage, could not have made a significant impact afterwards on the game.
