The servers have come down for maintenance and things have become eerily quite on the Fields of Justice. While we wait for all the new 3.03 patch goodies, why don't we survey a few red posts?
Continue reading for two small posts from Morello regarding Janna and Warwick, as well as Phreak discussing what was lacking from the QV champion spotlight and why. You'll also find Xypherous explaining why Vayne didn't receive any attack speed buffs in patch 3.03.
Morello on Janna and Warwick Buffs
Morello briefly mentioned that Janna will be getting some balance attention soon, saying:
"We're going to be giving Janna a little love, likely undoing one of the nerfs. Statikk will have details when it's done :)"
As well as Warwick:
"No, you missed where I mentioned we agree WW needs love. No details yet."
Regarding the QV Champion Spotlight
As you likely saw, the Quinn and Valor champion spotlight came out earlier and, while it was pretty standard, it was missing a few of the bigger, more exciting plays we have become accustomed to. Phreak has responded to why this is so and mentions something rather interesting at the end:
"There were actually a couple of snags that set us back on this one, unfortunately.
The first is that LCS takes up a lot of my time, so I'm not able to come back in for last-minute changes nearly as much as I was before. This is something we're looking to fix, but is a problem right now.
Second, we made a couple of small errors choosing clips to portray: I actually recorded Vault going over a wall during the introductory "Ability Demos" section, but failed to include it in the final video. That one's my fault, I should have been watching more closely and made sure that went in.
The third one is actually really unfortunate as we had two different awesome team fights to show.
In one, Hecarim dives in, and QV Vaults away, puts a bunch of damage, and makes him run. QV pops ult, follows him around the side jungle (near Blue's Golem) and takes him out in bird form. This places QV right behind the enemy Lux and gets another assassination, making a 4-1 fight.
The other is basically the inverse. QV dives in with their ultimate too early and is immediately forced to Flash out, showing that the ult is more of an assassination move than an "it's a team fight just press it" ability.
The reason they got cut was because we were playtesting QV at the same time as an upcoming champion rework (Visual? Gameplay? Both? Who knows?! :) ) that we had planned to reveal by now, but aren't ready to just yet.Let's reread that last part...
I definitely feel your concern, though. I loved how those fights looked and they had some great information in them."

Where did the Vayne attack speed buffs go?
As we previously read about, Vayne was scheduled to receive some attack speed per level buffs this patch. They are, as you may have noticed, missing from the 3.03 patch notes. Here is Xypherous explaining why:
"Minor two step process:
1. Turns out that a minor boost to AS didn't help Vayne as much as we originally thought - due to how Tumble works.
In fact - a minor boost to AS actually caused Tumble to create weird cross-incentives much earlier because of how long you get locked out from autoattacking during Tumble and how it's an attack reset - and thus negates the point of attack speed in the first place.
2. So we just made tumble cheaper to make sure you could.. like.. use it.
It was either that - or make the AS boost truly insane - which we really weren't prepared to do."
