This Week in ESPORTS - POST 2015 WC Quarterfinals

The 2015 World Championship Quarterfinals concluded this weekend with the following results:

• Origen defeated Flash Wolves  3 to 1.
• SKT T1 defeated AHQ 3 to 0.
• FNATIC defeated Edward Gaming 3 to 0.
• KOO Tigers defeated KT Rolser 3 to 1.

Champion Disables

Due to an unfortunate bug, Gragas, Lux, and Ziggs are all disabled for the rest of the 2015 World Championship tournament.

Here's the LoLesports post on the bug:

"After further investigations following the Gragas bug and remake during Game 2 of the Fnatic vs. EDG series, we have more information about how the bug works and the likelihood of it reoccurring. We know that champion disables are disruptive to team strategies and didn’t want to rush a disable when the exact cause and the likelihood of the bug occurring were unknown.

Having looked into this further and isolated the cause, we now know the bug is more likely to recur than we initially thought. We don’t want to endanger the integrity of the upcoming games or risk additional remakes, so we are are disabling Gragas for the remainder of the tournament. The bug is also reproducible on Lux and Ziggs, and so to be safe, we are disabling them for the remainder of the tournament.

We have chosen to do this at the end of Quarters and with a full week before Semis so that the teams will have time to adjust their strategies. We know that Gragas has been a high priority pick so far in Worlds and we want to make sure all four teams have the chance to adjust as necessary."

While pick'ems are LOCKED in, it's interesting to note that only FIVE players remain out of a total pool of over  2,600,000 players are on track for a PERFECT PICK'EM.  Here's the scoreboards as of the end of the Quarterfinals:

• Team Liquid has announced the their new starting support player, Smoothie. 

• Team Solomid is implementing some major roster changes. Santorin and Lustboy will be departing from the team alongside Dyrus, who announced his retirement last week.

• Along with these changes, TSM has announced the opening of some coaching positions and are accepting applications.

• FORG1VEN, Gambit Gaming's starting AD Carry, will be removed from the starting lineup meaning he will be moved to the substitute position.

• A slew of 2015 World Championship content, including the new Championship  Kalista, 2015 WC Ward skin, and summoner icons + returning Legacy content, is available through November 5th!
