The League Partner Program is just getting started. Expect more cool stuff in the months to come.
HOW IT WORKS
Click the button, fill out a few questions, done.
We’re looking for Video Content Creators of all types, but here’s what you gotta have no matter what:
  • A League account in good standing and with a verified email address
  • At least 30% of your content is League of Legends related
  • 50+ average concurrent viewers on a livestream or 5,000+ average views on a video
We know League would be nowhere without a community of creators. The League Partnership Program is our effort to recognize the awesome content players like you create, support you in making more, and reward the work you put in.
The perks available during early access are focused on video content, but we’ll be rolling out more in the months to come. We’re looking for feedback on additional rewards you’re interested in and other ways we can support you and your content.
One last important note: partners are legally required to notify viewers that they’re receiving rewards from Riot. To comply, we’ll send you a League Partner badge that you’ll need to display for your viewers. More info on that to come with the first set of rewards when you're approved.
Still got questions about partnering up? Check out the FAQ for more details.
FAQ
1. How long does it take to be approved?
This will vary depending on your region, as each local team will review and approve creators. We expect it to take about 2 weeks.
2. What if I don't meet the viewer count requirements?
You can still sign up, but you won’t be eligible for the rewards and monthly giveaways until your channel meets the requirements. There’s a chance this may change in the future as we evolve the program.
3. How do I receive rewards?
We’ll add rewards directly to the account you sign up with, or email rewards to the email address associated with the account (which is why you’ll need to use a verified email address).
4. How do the giveaways work?
Every few patches, one of the new skins will include an exclusive chroma only available through codes given to content creators. There may be ways for other players to obtain those chromas in the future, but don’t have plans for that at the moment.
5. What if I don’t own the champion or skin for the chroma?
Any partner chroma loot includes the champion, skin, and special chroma all in one.
6. Are there restrictions on the giveaway codes?
Codes are locked to the region you play in, and expire after four weeks. Selling codes is explicitly not allowed. Creators found to be selling codes will be removed from the program.
7. Will I get Divine Sword Irelia codes for my viewers?
This first reward is just for creators. Once you’re approved, the next set will include codes for your viewers."

Ask Riot: Nexus Blitz and Teleport

Check out this week's Ask Riot, covering how to play Yasuo, thoughts on TP, and an update on Nexus Blitz:
This week, we’re talking Nexus Blitz, Teleport, and Yasuo.
Will nexus blitz be a permanent game mode like aram or summoner’s rift? because i like playing it so far.

We hope so—we like playing Nexus Blitz too! We’ve seen a lot of positive response so far, and gathered a ton of valuable feedback (and we’ve been iterating on the map, balance, items, and several events as a result). We still need time to soak in more feedback before we can figure out next steps for NB, though.
Nexus Blitz is the first “experimental mode” that we’ve put out there—an alpha gameplay prototype that provides a very different experience from what players already have. We are trying to answer a ton of questions while it’s live: Is the overall experience fun? How do people feel about this event, or that reward? Did we hit needs that aren’t as well served in the rest of League? And, ultimately, is this a novel experience, or something that people want to play long term?
By the end of the test run on live, we should have have a better picture of what worked and what didn’t, and whether NB should come back as a second test run, a full launch, or as an RGM (temporary mode that comes back time-to-time).

Have you thought about removing teleport as a summoner spell? It’s been nerfed so many times and it still is always used in pro play, even though it’s not that good in solo queue anymore.
We’ve given some consideration to what a world without TP as a Summoner would look like, but it’s probably unwise to remove the Teleport effect from the game entirely because it opens up a lot of strategic options and is also just fun to use and play around. As such, we’d want to make sure the effect had a proper home. Maybe that’s an item, or an effect that spawns in base, or an attachment to the Rune system (not sure how that would work), but something along those lines.
Having it as a Summoner in its current form creates some pretty low-action game states when it’s a go-to choice for many. Displacing TP to another area of the game may mean we could potentially have a lot of its upsides with fewer of the earlier game downsides.

How do you play yasuo?

To play Yasuo, you have to accept that Yasuo is more than a champion. Yasuo is a lifestyle. You buy keycaps that replace “QWER” with Yasuo’s ability symbols. You grow out your hair so you can rock a shitty man-bun/ponytail that sticks up in the back, and you carefully slide a few strands of your bangs out to hang loosely over you face like a windswept ronin. Your coworkers become concerned when you change all of your “one-on-one” meetings to “1v1” meetings. You spend more time in Yassuo’s streamthan you do with your loved ones. Samurai Champloo and Inuyasha occupy your 2nd monitor, and you recreate scenes from Sword of the Stranger with your mom’s umbrella when the servers are down.
Disappointment in your teammate’s skills transcends to disappointment in your friends and family. Your best friend gets hit on by a cute guy or girl? You can’t relate because nothing hits you, not with your impeccable windwall timings. Coming back from college in the summer and your grandma says she misses you? You don’t miss anyone or anything, especially not your Q3 ‘nados. Your younger sibling spills a drink and makes a mess? Pathetic, hours of beyblade/airblade/keyblade reps in practice tool have resulted in mechanical perfection, both inside the game and out.
Sorry I blacked out there for a second. Oh how to play Yasuo. Right. There is no answer to this question. You shouldn’t even ask the question. You just do. You forego any shame, any sense of embarrassment, self-reflection, self-awareness, or empathy. Humans are a social species, yet deep within us is a desire for the asocial. We fantasize about “beyond civilization”—the end of the world, the zombie apocalypse, the empty road with nothing but a blade for company. In a society that demands our socialization, demands that we spend our time posting pictures, liking, retweeting, sharing, and subscribing, all to connect the webs of humanity… Yasuo’s blade is the lone edge to cut those webs. So at the end of a long day of dealing with friends, family, coworkers, snapstagram, and instachat, don’t ask, “How do you play Yasuo?”
Because deep down, we all have a bit of Yasuo inside us. You just have to embrace it and lock him in.

Thanks for reading this week’s Ask Riot. Have a question?
Head over to Ask Riot and sign into your League account. Check out the Pro Tips, then ask away.
We promise to read every question, but we can’t guarantee they’ll all get answers. Some questions may already be answered elsewhere, and some won’t be right for Ask Riot. This isn’t the best place to announce new features, for example, and we might skip conversations on issues we’ve talked about in depth before (though we can clarify individual points).
We are listening, though, so keep asking. We’ll make sure your questions are heard by the Rioters working on the stuff you’re curious about."

Quick Hits

  • After the September 5th Clash test on the PBE, Riot Rapwnzel provided an update on what was learned and what's next for Clash:
"Hey all!
Big thanks to everyone who participated in yesterday’s Clash PBE test! We are really grateful for your help <3 and pleased with the outcome of the test, which has validated many of our backend changes to the game flow to ensure more reliable game starts. :)
What we Learned.
This first PBE test served as a system integration test at a larger scale. We were able to demonstrate reliable game starts as a result of the various pieces of work that have gone into optimizing the systems that move matches through champ select. Our ability to rate limit Clash match starts also means more flexibility per region with respect to the number of game starts that can be handled.
We observed some issues with players who had created their PBE accounts immediately before the test. While this won’t be a possible scenario for Clash outside of PBE testing, it has raised visibility on some possible improvements around the new player experience.
What’s Next.
Our upcoming tests will focus more on simulating when things don’t go right, and how we can leverage our new Clash Management Tool to recover gracefully.
These tests are scheduled for 9/11 and 9/19, so stay tuned for more details on the timing and how to participate!
Cheers!"
