1/10 PBE Update: Sona VFX Update, TFT Tacticians & More

The PBE has been updated! As we start the 12.2 PBE cycle, today's patch includes a look at a Sona VFX update on the PBE, new TFT Tacticians, tentative balance changes, and more!

Sona VFX Update

Here's Riot Zhanos with the details on a Sona VFX update that is now testing on the PBE:
"Hello everyone! 
Similar to the previous VFX updates we've made in the past, we're working on updates to the Visual Effects of champions whose spell effects are in need of some love. Our aim is to get their VFXs to current League standards and improve gameplay clarity. Just like all the previous ones, and since these are smaller updates geared toward sprucing up some of the oldest members of the roster, they aren't in the same prioritization conversation as to how we decide who gets a VGU: they do not affect any other timeline, and are simply dev passion projects. As usual, the more recent the skins are, the less changes they are getting.

* Base: Complete overhaul
* Muse: Minor details from new base
* Pentakill: New Base
* Silent Night: Recolored from new base
* Guqin: Minor details from new base
* Arcade: Complete overhaul
* DJ Sona: Complete overhaul (added an special passive celebration for each skin)

* Pentakill 3: Minimal tweaks
We're looking for feedback on her changes, which should be up on the PBE now. Please try her out there and leave some feedback! 
EDIT 1/10 : We've heard the feedback around Pentakill Sona not having any custom VFX, so we've added a some new VFX to the Basic Attacks, the R and the Passive!

  • Adjusted DJ Sona stun indicator to match scale of most champions
  • Adjusted values in the Odyssey Sona skin"

  • Porcelain Protector Ezreal's splash art and assets were updated with tweaks to his face:

  • Loot assets added to the PBE:
    • Firecracker 2022 Grab Bag
      • Contains 3 skin shards worth 1350RP or lower OR 4 random skin shards from past Lunar Revels (2013-2017) worth 975 RP or higher. Bonus chance at a mythic gemstone and a mythic permanent skin.
    • Firecracker 2022 Orb
      • Open to reveal a guaranteed random Skin Shard with a chance to obtain a Firecracker 2022 Grab Bag. Gemstone and Mythic Skin Permanent drop rates multiplied by 1.5.
    • Firecracker 2022 Exclusive Pack
      • Contains 3 skin shards worth 1350RP or lower OR 4 random skin shards from past Lunar Revels (2013-2017) worth 975RP or higher OR 4 skin permanents of any value. Bonus chance at a mythic gemstone and a mythic permanent skin.
    • Lunar Revel 2022 Token
      • Gained from purchasing event content or completing event missions. Craft into exclusive Lunar Revel 2022 event content. Tokens are earnable until February 28, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Tokens are purchasable until March 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. PT. Tokens expire March 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. PT.

    • [Removed] bonus magic damage based on bonus movespeed
  • Howling Gale (Q)
    • Mana cost lowered from [60-140] to [60-100]
    • Min range increased from 1000 to 1100
    • Max range increased from 1750 to 1760
    • Travel time lowered from 1.5 to 1.25
  • Zephyr (W) 
    • Range changed from [550 edge to edge] to [650 center to center]
    • Slow duration increased from 2 to 3

  • Eye of the Storm (E)
    • Cooldown lowered from [16-12] to [15-9]
    • Time before shield decays increased from [.75] to [1.25]
    • Shield amount lowered from [80-220 (+70% AP)] to [80-200 (+65% AP)]
    • Effect changed from [cc'ing an evemy champion with a spell reduces e's cooldown by 20%] to [impairing an enemy champion's movement grants 20% heal and shield power for 5s]
  • Monsoon (R)
    • Healing tick rate lowered from [.5] to [.25]
      • Total healing remains the same

Senna
  • Piercing Darkness (Q)

Context & Notes

1) Riot August provided changelists for changes now testing on the PBE:

New Janna list for 12.2 heading to PBE! 
-Empowering your shield with CC was missed, so we're retaining a version of it. 
-Janna players didn't seem to care about damage in Q, so we cut the damage buff to add power elsewhere 
-Added a couple QoL changes

"Senna has been a bit weak in the new season so we have a buff going to PBE soon: 
Q
Now slows enemies by 20%(+6%/100AP)(+10%/100BAD) for 2s  
We felt that old glacial did a lot for Senna's pattern, especially as a support marksman, so we're trying adding a slow back onto her kit."
